How much does it cost?
In 2010 the cost set by the Trust to take one child to Lourdes for seven days was £710. This covers the costs of the flights, the hotel and the Trusts overhead costs. What this fare does not cover is the cost of the preparation days, the coaches to and from Manchester airport, the several excursions we take the children on whilst in Lourdes, the cafe visits and ice cream stops, the medical equipment, toys, stationary supplies etc. Crucially we also need to raise money to assist the unpaid volunteer helpers. The full cost to the helpers is £689 and once we have covered all of the costs referred to above we also undertake fundraising to subsidise the helpers so that they can look after the children. After all if we do not have any volunteers we cannot take any children.
This means that we annually have to raise over £16,000.
Can you help?
All of our volunteer helpers undertake fundraising throughout the year but the largest amount of money raised each year is done so by friends of HCPT Group 134. Without these friends we would not be able to continue the good work of the Trust. Every donation helps.
are several ways you can help.
